On July 3, Ryika Hooshangi took the oath of office for Position #2 of the Sammamish Plateau Water’s Board of Commissioners. Ryika was appointed by the Board in late June to fill a vacancy until the next general election in November 2019. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science from George Washington University and a law degree from Catholic University. She was a U.S. government attorney and diplomat for the Department of State for more than 10 years, and served as a fellow at the Brooking Institution in the U.S. Senate and the Senate Finance Committee. I’m honored to have this opportunity to serve our community and look forward to joining the conversation about the significant and vital work of Sammamish Plateau Water. I hope to engage residents in the conversation and continue to maintain the integrity and safety of our water," said Ryika.
