Reports of discolored water

We have received a few calls regarding water discoloration in neighborhoods around NE 8th street. This discoloration is temporary, and does not pose a public health risk. If you experience water that is discolored (brownish in color) coming from your faucets, please let your water run for about 5 minutes. This will flush the system and return it to normal conditions. This discoloration is manganese sediment that was stirred up during routine maintenance of a filtration system where the system was brought offline to install a new pressure-reducing valve. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please feel free to give our office a call if you have any questions. If it is after hours, you will be directed to our on-call staff.
