We understand that customers are using an increasing number of disinfecting wipes to keep things clean out of Coronavirus concerns. Unfortunately, water and sewer districts around the country are now beginning to experience problems with their sewer systems as customers flush these wipes and other toilet paper “alternatives” down the toilet.
Please help us out, and keep wipes out of our pipes. They can get snagged in the pipes and cause build-ups, blockages, and overflows. They can also get caught in a pump and stop the pump.
As a reminder, please do NOT flush any items like:
Even if a product is labeled as “flushable,” it should still be put in the trash instead of the toilet.
Whatever ends up in your toilet can potentially affect the water environment, so it’s also important to keep household wastes such as window cleaners, unused or expired pharmaceuticals, and fats out of toilets and drains and dispose of them properly.
