COVID-19 Response: (Updated) Temporary changes to public records services

Last updated: 7/7/2020

On March 24, 2020, Governor Inslee issued Proclamation 20-28 temporarily prohibiting in-person meetings and contacts with the public that are required by the Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA) and the Public Records Act (PRA).

In response to the proclamation, Sammamish Plateau Water has amended how we provide our services for public records requests. The following is a summary of those changes and updates that are in effect under the proclamation:

  • In-person contact at the District office for public records requests is suspended.
  • Public records requests are still being accepted and fulfilled. Requests should be submitted using the electronic Public Records Request Form available on the District’s website.
  • District staff will utilize remote options when responding to public records requests on a case-by-case basis.
  • The requirement for District staff to provide an initial response to a public records request within five business days is suspended. During this time, it may take longer for District staff to fulfill your request. *Update 6/3/2020: This suspension of the requirement does not apply to requests for public records received electronically.

This information may change as the COVID-19/Coronavirus situation continues to develop. Please email with any questions or concerns.
